Shenton Avenue Medical Centre was founded by three of the most devoted family doctors in Perth’s northern suburbs: Dr Sam Hanna (MBBCH, AMC, FRACGP), Dr Julius Tan (MBBS, MAFP, FRACGP) and Dr Nash Qamar.

All 3 doctors have more than 2 decades of medical experience and they work together to provide and operate a complete and holistic medical clinic. It is our experience that ensures patients are treated with the highest level of care.

A doctor of 24 years, Dr Sam Hanna has spent more than a decade working in the Joondalup area after a life that has taken him several times around the world. Originally from Egypt, Dr Hanna is fully certified to practice medicine both in Australia and the USA.

Dr Hanna obtained his Medical Degree from Cairo University in Egypt in 1991. He did 5 years of surgical training in Egypt. He completed United States Medical Licence Exams and obtained his state licence in 1998. He then Migrated to Australia in 2000. He worked in various Hospitals in Perth for 3.5 years, before he completed the fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

Dr Cawley undertook his university studies and initial training in Western Australia, before joining the Royal Australian Navy as a Medical Officer, where he was posted to North Queensland and deployed to various locations around the world, being trained in dive medicine, sports injuries/rehabilitation and occupational medicine.   Special Interests:

Dr Janet Hutchens  Bsc (Hons) MBBS FRACGP

Dr Hutchens is a graduate of UWA, and worked at SCGH and Joondalup Health Campus focusing in General Medicine, Emergency medicine, Geriatrics and Paediatrics prior to commencing in General Practice.

She is interested in all aspects of General practice, with special interests in:

  • Paediatrics and

Dr Anu Soul is a passionate GP who believes in providing holistic care to patients, and pays special attention to preventative care. Having completed her MBBS from University of Western Australia with Honours, she completed an elective term at Harvard University (Boston, USA) in Emergency Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and a Cardiology term at St Joseph's Hospital in Toronto Canada.

She has worked in a variety of Medical terms at Royal Perth hospital and Joondalup Health Campus as a Medical Registrar. Dr Soul completed her fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2018 and since then has been an integral part of the Shenton Avenue Medical Centre team. Having completed her Primary Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine, she is currently pursuing a Certificate in Dermatology as part of her special interest in skin care.

Dr Soul is also involved in the Living lite program offered at the practice as she has a keen interest in weight loss management.

Tom is a valuable asset to the Move Forward team as the Managing partner of our Butler, Gateway, Shenton Ave and Kinross Clinics. After spending some years providing physiotherapy services in the local community, he is elated to continue to be a presence in our newest clinics in the northern suburbs. He has a keen interest in an array of musculoskeletal conditions with a particular interest in the ‘everyday’ injury, back and neck pain that keeps us from our hobbies and work.

He loves working with you to get you back to what you love quickly, combining manual therapy and dry needling with exercise rehabilitative strategies. His interest in sports has led him to work with the Wanneroo amateur Football, Rugby and Soccer teams. His sporting interests outside of work include Rugby, Martial arts, Soccer and Golf. On top of being a partner, Tom is also the Client Relationship Officer for Move Forward Physiotherapy making sure we deliver the highest quality service possible to all of our valued patients.
